Ex. a weapon that will damage and swap places with a foe. It makes you really think about what you do and how you do it. I recommend playing it, rage quitting, then playing it again and repeat. In all seriousness though, you probably will be frustrated a bit, but none of this game is unfair. Playing this game will only make you better with each loss. Each level will test your grit and end with a boss fight, which will afterward reward you with a new power.. Will make it short, since i don't really review games much.They only complaint besides, the suggestion below, is that the weapon restoring items, have little purpose for most of the game, because they regen easily. I hope if there is a future installment, that they would make the weapons have a set cost, and not auto regen, so that the items have more of a purpose like a regular mega man.although it is not as good as the megaman games for nintendo, I find this game a goodsubstitute. It feels almost like playing the old game series, my only thoughtwould be if the developers make a sequel, i wish it would have more stages, butI definitely suggest this game for megaman fans, plus it is not that expensive.. TL;DR It plays like a hardcore megaman fan who loved the games tried to make their own sequel, keeping what worked and trying new things to fix the issues caused by how old the games are like lives. it is up to debate if the new solutions worked or not.Well Megaman fans rejoice, there are GOOD clones to fill in the gap after all! Is this the meaman remake we all wanted? subjective... Long story short this game changes many things that I personally like, but arent megaman so I can see a fan getting upset about them.the two biggest changes are the weapons systems for the boss weapons, and the lives system. For weapons there is a slowly recharging bar, and hitting secondary fire when its full fires your charge shot. If you have a boss weapon and have it equiped, you still fire your normal shot and your secondary fire shoots off the boss weapon. now you cant use it all the time thanks to a ten second charge, but there is no worry about running out of ammo when you really need it like classic megamanFor lives they are rare as normal, but you have unlimited continues... so what is the point of lives? continuing dosnt take a life but there is a 'reborn' option that uses them. if you chose to be reborn, you will instead respawn at the start of the room rather than the start of the level. Perfect for when you die after a long streach by accedently letting go of jump too soon. Oh and you cant use reborn to tank the bosses, as reborn spawns you in the previous room for bosses... where a checkpoint is anyway.few more minor complaints, METAGAL feels a bit heavier than megaman... there is a fat chick joke somewhere. Oh speaking of the gender swap, the story feels like a guy who didnt know how to write for women wrote it. Luckly it is less them obsessing about boys and more GirlPowerTM which I find more bearable. On the plus side, just like classic megaman, the story is there for the beginning and the end... and thats it so it is very easy to ignore.If that all sounds good, then know this game is scratching that megaman itch I have been having for a while. At the time of this review I have seen there are 3 other playable characters to unlock, 8 or so stages to play and probably more unlocked after those. level design is fun, and I occasonaly get surprised by some level design I wasnt expecting. I have been having fun, It is nowhere near the likes of shovel knight, however it is good enough that it could be compared to shovel knight. If the devs see this than please keep this up. I would love to see a sequel in the future(unless there is one I just dont know about) or even some other classic games remade with the same love and care. Classic Castleveina for instance... or maybe Secret of Mana... just saying. This game is a Megaman like game, wich does not want to be a copycat and gets it quite right.For example you have to use aquired weapons to proceed in later levels or take shortcuts inearlier ones, wich makes look Megaman real bad sometimes.This game might be far from perfect, but you should give those devs a dime if you can..
